Instructions for use
Substrate preparation
- Substrates must be clean, free of oily residues, loose materials, dust etc.
- Surfaces must be thoroughly dampened prior to plastering especially during high temperatures. Apply one coat of spray-applied anchoring plaster.
- Protruding irons and reinforcing materials should be cut off. Apply ISOMIX FERRO PRIME for rust protection and anchoring at the points of contact with the plaster.
- Extremely absorbent surfaces, such as aerated concrete blocks must be primed using acrylic resin ISOMIX RESIN ACR 300.
- The use of angle beads will speed up application, provide strong surfaces on wall edges and even help ensure wall flatness. They are placed on wall edges, beams, on window sills etc. Angle beads should be placed one day before plastering to achieve full stability. Leveling is performed at the same time as fixing in order to achieve perfect horizontal and vertical edges.
- Application of a reinforcing mesh is necessary for binding different building materials as well as to prepare gutters for electrical or plumbing installations. The mesh should be placed 0,5cm deep for a layer 2cm thick.
- For thermal insulation boards (extruded or expanded polystyrene) the application of fibre-reinforced mortar adhesive reinforced with mesh as first coat is recommended. The mesh must bind board joints, as well as joints between boards and the remaining building materials.
Mixing instructions
- Mixing ratio is 6 kg of water for 25kg of ISOMIX ONE COAT PLASTER.
- Use a low speed electrical mixer, a continuous mixing machine or a rotating mixer. Add the appropriate quantity of water and gradually under constant stirring add ISOMIX ONE COAT PLASTER. Stir well for 4-5 minutes till a uniform viscous mixture with desired workability is formed.
- The working time of the mixture is approximately 2 hours.
Application
- Apply ISOMIX ONE COAT PLASTER in a layer up to 2 cm thick, using an operated machine or a trowel.
- Allow plastered surface to cure for 30 minutes – 1 hour depending on ambient temperature. The plaster is then smoothed by hand, using a metallic spatula.
- Dampen the surface and proceed to final smoothing using a polystyrene board or a rough sponge.
- Final surfaces are ready for further treatment with acrylic surface filler ISOMIX WALL STUCCO and painting.
- For plastering thickness more than 2cm two coats of 1-2 cm thickness are recommended.
- The second coat can be applied when the first has been completely cured. (1-10 days depending on ambient temperature and humidity)
REMARKS
- Avoid application on surfaces exposed to direct sunlight during summer period.
- Do not add excess water since this will result in cracking and decrease bonding strength.
- Do not over-stir the plaster mixture. Apply within 30 – 60 minutes.
