Instructions for use
Surface Preparation
New surfaces: light sanding if required for very smooth surfaces. Surfaces must be dry and clean from dirt and any oily residues. Oily residues and pine resins can be removed with nitro solvent or acetone.
Varnished surfaces: remove old varnishes (especially nitrocellulose) with paint stripper STRIPP N’ CLEAN or with sanding machine. Sand the surface to a smooth finish and remove all dirt and dust with a damp cloth.
Application
- Stir well before use.
- Apply WOOD SEALER & VARNISH by brush, roller or airless spray in 1-2 coats. For soft woods and humid areas 2 coats are recommended.
- Allow at least 30 – 45 minutes between each coat depending on ambient temperature. If fully dried more than 12 hours, sand softly before applying next layer
- For very porous surfaces (or when WOOD SEALER & VARNISH is used as a top coat) a third coat must be applied.
- Follow with light sanding, cleaning and application of the top coat - varnish.
IMPORTANT
- Wooden surfaces should be dry before application (12-14% internal humidity).
- Do not apply WOOD SEALER & VARNISH on extremely humid days or when rain is threatening.
- It should be noted that woods with high oil content may eventually experience adhesion problems as there is no way to totally eliminate the oil and prevent it from migrating to the surface.
