Description
ISOMIX WATERPROOF SC900 is one component, brushable, sealing slurry. It contains high strength Portland cement, selected inert fillers, special additives and resins which offer excellent adhesion and elasticity as well as long lasting water resistance. Does not crack nor shrink. The range of applications includes simple waterproofing applications as well as negative water pressure conditions.
ADVANTAGES
- Withstands negative water pressure
- Elastic
- Exhibits outstanding adhesion to most building surfaces
- Demonstrates excellent durability to ageing
- Easy to apply
- Offers excellent adhesion to following layers / plaster
- Withstands temperature variations
- Exterior and interior use
APPLICATIONS
- Waterproofing of basements internally (walls with water infiltration problems) and externally prior to covering the foundations with earth.
- Waterproofing sewage tanks, water tanks, swimming pools, flower beds etc.
- Waterproofing floors prior to the final covering (tiles, marble, wooden parquet etc).
- Waterproofing of concrete elements and walls.
- It is also suitable for bricks, cement blocks, stones etc.

Instructions for use
Substrate preparation
- Make sure that substrates are clean, free of oily residues, rust, loose materials, dust etc.
- Remove any stagnant water or water puddles from substrate.
- For reinforced concrete surfaces cut steel rods to a depth of 2cm and coat these with ZINC SHEEN galvanizing primer or cement based anticorrosive primer ISOMIX FERRO PRIME. Holes should be sealed and filled.
- Wires should be cut in depth of 2cm into the concrete, water leaks should be plugged with rapid setting cement and cracks must be filled accordingly.
- Moisten the surface up to saturation avoiding the creation of water puddles.
Mixing instructions
- Add 8 – 8,5kg of water in a clean bucket and gradually under constant stirring add 25kg of WATERPROOF SC900.
- Using a low gear electrical mixer stir well till a uniform viscous mixture is formed suitable for brush application.
- Let the mixture stand for 5 minutes and stir again.
- The working time of the mixture is approximately 45 minutes. Periodical stirring is advised avoiding the addition of more water.
CAUTION: Do not add excess water quantity since it might decrease adhesion and water proofing properties.
Application
- Apply the first layer with a rough brush at a required thickness of 1mm taking care to cover properly all the surface.
- The next layer should be applied crossways after the setting of the first layer and while it is still wet. A third layer may be applied if necessary.
- If the previous layer has dried moisten the surface accordingly prior to the application of the next layer.
- Surfaces are ready for use within 24 hours for water immersion, within 48 hours for water pressure and in 10 days for further treatment.
Plastering
If plastering work follows the application of WATERPROOF SC900, it is advised to use a resin fortified plaster in order to avoid adhesion problems. Then a second layer of other industrial or traditional plaster can be applied.
REMARKS
Apply product at temperatures from +5oC to +35oC. Freshly coated surfaces should be protected from quick drying, direct sunlight and frost. Make sure that the surface temperature is between 5oC and 35oC as direct sun exposure can increase this to more than 50oC.
