Description
ISOMIX WATERPROOF 2K SET is an elastic, 2-component, brushable, sealing slurry. Exhibits strong adhesion to most building surfaces, long term sealing properties and high resistance to UVA. It consists of a cement-based dry mix with selected filler grades (component Α) and concentrated acrylic based emulsion resin (component Β).
ADVANTAGES
- Highly elastic
- Crack-bridging ability
- Withstands negative water pressure offering total waterproofing against water pressure up to 7 atm, according to DIN 1048
- Vapour permeability
- Resistance to ageing
- Bonding to wet surfaces without priming
- Easy and low cost application
- Exterior and interior use
APPLICATIONS
- Waterproofing balconies and terraces
- Waterproofing basements, internally or externally, against humidity or water under pressure.
- Waterproofing of surfaces exhibiting contraction-expansion and vibration effects such as terraces, balconies, above ground water tanks, swimming pools, inverted roofs etc
- Waterproofing corners, joints and uncovered spots.
- Ideal as a substrate for sealing cracks in humid areas prior to tile fixing, such as bathrooms, terraces, balconies etc.
- Waterproofing surfaces made of concrete, plaster, bricks, cement-blocks, aerated concrete blocks, mosaic, gypsum boards, wood, metal, expanded or extruded polystyrene etc.

Instructions for use
Substrate preparation
- The substrate must be clean, free of dirt, grease or any oily residues, loose material, dust, etc.
- Cracks and holes are filled with the same material and water leaks with rapid setting cement.
- Any holes in concrete surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned from unstable materials and thoroughly moistened but avoiding the creation of puddles. Then cavities are filled with ISOMIX RAPID CEMENT or ISOMIX MECHANIC.
- Reinforcing steel should be cut at a depth of about 20-30 mm into the concrete and the holes must be filled as described above.
- Any work joints are opened longwise at a depth of about 35mm and in a V shape and sealed as above.
- When sealing old basements and buildings, plastering must be removed at least 50cm above the water level and ISOMIX WATERPROOF 2K SET applied.
- Corners such as joints of floors and walls must be filled and smoothed with ISOMIX RAPID CEMENT or with a cement mortar improved with ISOMIX LATEX SBR 400.
- Application of self-leveling mortar is recommended for leveling floors and for slope creation.
- Prime surfaces with acrylic emulsion ISOMIX ACR-300 diluted with water at a ratio 1:6 – 1:8.
Application
- Combine cement-based dry mix (component A) with the acrylic polymer dispersion (component B) to a ratio of 6kg component A to 2kg component B and add 1kg clean water under continuous stirring (preferably use electric mixer) until a uniform mixture is formed, suitable for brush application.
- Working time of the mixture is approximately 30 – 40 minutes depending on ambient temperature.
- Apply first coat with a brush up to 1mm thick covering the entire surface. Apply the second coat when the first one has dried (8-12 hours) in a cross direction.
- The surface should be dampened, avoiding the creation of puddles prior to each application.
- Final surface while still wet may be smoothened with a spatula or plastered.
