Instructions for use
Substrate preparation
- Careful surface preparation is very important for optimum finish and durability.
- The surface needs to be clean, dry, sound and free of any contamination that may harmfully affect the adhesion of the membrane.
- Maximum substrate moisture content should not exceed 6%.
- New concrete structures need to dry for at least 28 days.
- Old, loose coatings, dirt, fats, oils, organic substances and dust need to be removed by mechanical means such as a sanding machine. Possible surface irregularities need to be smoothened.
- Old asphalt coated surfaces should remain exposed for at least three months and any imperfections of previous coatings must be removed and primed locally with PGP DRYPROOF ROOF COATING.
- Metallic surfaces should be cleaned from rust and loose materials and coated with anticorrosive protection.
- Galvanized surfaces should remain exposed for six months before the use of material.
Repair of cracks
The careful sealing of existing cracks and joints before the application is extremely important for long lasting waterproofing results.
Application
- Stir product well before and during use.
- Apply PGP DRYPROOF ROOF COATING locally on weak points of surface such as joints, cracks and seams so that they are strengthened and sealed. Allow material to dry for 2 - 4 hours.
- Apply first coat with a hard brush, following the same direction. Allow first coat to dry for 24 hours.
- Apply the second coat crossways to the first.
- Surfaces can be walked on at least after 48 hours.
- Application of PGP DRYPROOF ROOF COATING must be avoided at temperatures below 8oC and above 35oC and when frost or rain is expected.
