Description
LIQUID GLASS TUB & TILE is a specially modified 2-component, solvent-free epoxy paint, for bathtubs, indoor tiles and porcelain. It creates a uniform glossy enamel like surface. It has excellent mechanical resistance, very good resistance to most household cleaners and excellent resistance when permanently contacting water. Due to these properties, it is recommended for application on tiles and bathtubs as a more long-term solution compared to other water-based and most solvent-based products. Its special composition meets extremely high durability requirements. The combination of solvent-free formulation makes it ideal for easy application indoors.

Instructions for use
For tiles and bathtubs:
- Clean the surfaces thoroughly where the application will take place using OXY CLEAN CL17 to remove dirt, oils, and any other impurities, ensuring proper adhesion of the surface.
- Sand the surface with no. 220-280 sandpaper.
- Degrease surfaces with acetone or DIL X 100 solvent.
- Surfaces already painted must be fully cleaned using chemical or mechanical means and carefully abraded.
- Clean the mohair – short hair rollers and brushes before using to remove loose hairs.
- Apply tape to corners and edges, protecting areas you don't want to paint.
- Repair chips and cracks with epoxy filler EPOXITE CONSTRUCT. Sand the patched surface and remove dust.
- Ideal painting conditions: 15oC – 30oC, Relative Humidity <70%.
For tiles and bathtubs:
Decayed surfaces of concrete and cement mortar are unsuitable for painting, and the paint will peel off. Remove decayed pieces and repair – fill with epoxy putty EPOXITE CONSTRUCT or with ISOMIX MECHANIC R4 cementitious repair mortar.
Priming
Non – porous surfaces (such as tiles, etc.) need to be primed with a two – component solvent-based epoxy primer EPOXITE DUR or with a solvent free, water-based epoxy primer, EPOXITE DUR AQUA to enhance adhesion, mainly in areas with high mechanical demands or industrial use.
Sound and porous surfaces made of concrete or cement mortar can also be primed with the aforementioned primers for durability enhancement.
Surfaces exhibiting rising dampness must be primed with the solventless - 100% solids epoxy primer EPOXITE DRY MAX WET.
Application
- Components A and B are packaged in predetermined quantities for easy mixing.
- LIQUID GLASS TUB & TILE is solvent free and does not need to be diluted.
- Mix the two components separately very well (using a clean stirrer) before combining them. Then, carefully stir the mixture for 2 minutes to ensure thorough blending on the walls and bottom of the container. Mixing can also be done with a low-speed drill (200-300 rpm). Inadequate mixing of the two components may cause uneven hardening of the paint, resulting in some areas not fully hardening.
- After mixing the two components, wait for 3 minutes, then apply the paint as is.
- Application should be done between 20 minutes during summer weather and 30 minutes during winter weather for optimal workability, but the application period can be extended up to 10 minutes further.
- Apply using a brush, roller, or spray gun in one or two coats. Ideally, apply by roller and then go over it with a brush to smooth and deaerate. Usually, one thick coat is sufficient.
- The second coat should be applied within a period of 12 to 24 hours.
- The paint achieves its final properties 7–14 days after applying the final coat, depending on external conditions.
REMARKS
- It is recommended to use protective gloves during application.
- Newly painted surfaces must be protected from moisture for 36 - 48 hours.
- If the final surface is repainted with another coat after 24 hours, adhesion of the subsequent coat might decrease. It is suggested to lightly sand the old surface and remove dust before painting.
- The hardening process and the shelf life of the A+B mixture are affected by temperature and relative humidity. Low temperature and high humidity increase the mixture's shelf life, and vice versa.
- Before using LIQUID GLASS TUB & TILE, gather all information and instructions available for better and safer use.
- Work in a well-ventilated area and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
- It is advisable to perform a suitability test before each application.
- Suitable for use by professionals or experienced users.
LIMITATIONS
- It is not for use on galvanized steel or flexible plastic.
- Do not use on areas exposed to extreme heat such as stovetops, or constant high humidity environments.
CLEANING
