Instructions for use
Surface preparation
- Make sure that plasterboards are firmly bolted to the frame.
- Clean the surface thoroughly, especially the joints.
- Make sure that the surface is dry.
- If there are voids in the joints or holes and cracks on the surface fill them with ARMOGIPS WR.
Application conditions
- Ambient and plasterboard temperature should not be below 7oC.
- It is advised to avoid joint filling when contraction-expansion in plasterboards is expected due to temperature and moisture variations.
Mixing instructions
- Add 2 kg of ISOMIX ARMOGIPS WR into 1 Lt clean water. Warning: never pour the water into the plaster.
- Stir well with a trowel until mix becomes homogenous and creamy. Final mixing with the trowel / spatula brings out the product’s characteristics.
- It is essential to use clean buckets and tools.
Application
- ISOMIX ARMOGIPS WR is workable for approximately 35- 45 minutes when mixed with water. After that the product begins to set. ( at normal temperatures – shorter at higher temperatures >30oC)
- Dirty bowls and tools significantly reduce working time of the mixed product.
Plastering
- At least two layers are required, depending on the quality requirements of the final work, while three will provide a better finish.
- Fill the joints and approximately 40 – 50 minutes later, scrape and remove excess material.
- Apply a second layer, with a big trowel in order to create a smooth surface between plasterboards.
- If there are holes from the bolting screws, plaster these as well.
- Caution: never use material that has started to set.
- Any imperfections on the final surface can be improved with a float.
- For wallpaper application it is advisable to use methyl cellulose based adhesives.
