Instructions for use
Substrate preparation
- Proper subfloor preparation is essential for the correct installation of any floor covering.
- Smooth uneven surfaces with self-levelling compound.
- Surfaces must be sound, smooth, dry and free from any oily residues, which will affect adhesion.
- Use nitro solvent for removing grease, oil, polish, soap, etc. from the sub-floor.
- Use ISOCRYL DUR solvent based acrylic primer or ISOCRYL DUR AQUA waterbased acrylic primer for substrate preparation prior to adhesion.
- For deteriorated cementitious substrate the application of primer PRIMER PU 900 is suggested.
Application
- Apply adhesive with a 1.5mm x 3mm or 1.5mm x 5mm ‘V’ notched trowel and paint roller, or fine tooth ‘V’ notched trowel.
- Holding the trowel at an angle of 60° spread the adhesive evenly over the sub-floor.
- Allow adhesive to dry for 15 - 20 minutes and then place the floor covering into the adhesive and press from the centre outwards to exclude any air.
- If the floor covering is not placed in the right position you can make minor adjustments within 30 - 60 minutes depending on room temperature.
- Then roll from end to end and side to side using the 60 kg flooring roller.
- 1 - 4 hours later roll again in two directions.
It is advisable to perform a suitability test for any new application.
Absorbent surfaces
- Apply the adhesive using a 1.5mm x 3mm trowel or 1.5mm x 5mm ‘V’ notched trowel, then immediately roll with a paint roller, which has been pre-wetted with adhesive, to obtain a smooth, uniform appearance, to minimise adhesive grin through.
- When installing tiles, it is advisable to leave the adhesive for approximately 10 minutes before placing the flooring, reducing the potential for sliding.
- Floor-covering can be placed into the adhesive.
Non-absorbent surfaces
Apply the adhesive as previously described but allow additional time for the adhesive to dry to a firm tack before laying the floor-covering. For better results apply adhesive to both surfaces.
REMARKS
One of the two surfaces to be bonded must be absorbent in order to achieve final curing.
